The Pontifical Irish College in Rome has celebrated nearly 400 Christmases and has long served as a hub for training men for the priesthood while preserving Ireland’s rich musical traditions. Father Paul Finnerty, the college’s rector, notes that the Christmas music performed today still reflects songs sung centuries ago, maintaining strong historical and cultural continuity. Music remains central to the college’s spiritual life, with Father Finnerty emphasizing that Pope Leo has spoken about its connection to faith, describing music as a bridge to God. The Pontifical Irish College continues to nurture both faith and culture, offering students a profound encounter with Irish Catholic heritage in the heart of Rome. EWTN News Foreign Correspondent Colm Flynn reports.
