At the start of his Wednesday General Audience, Pope Leo XIV paid homage to Our Lady of Lourdes by lighting a candle to pray for the sick.

The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes on February 11th marks the World Day of the Sick, instituted by Pope St. John Paul II in 1992, one year after his diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease.
